I've been taking things a bit easy over the last couple of weeks, managed to fall over and hurt my ankle, fortunately the wet weather has meant digging was not sensible given my clay soil.

I've been doing a bit of coppicing, the straight stems from a previously felled tree are ideal to create posts for the rabbit fencing and supports for the raspberries.  I want to use as many resources off the land as I can, this will keep down costs and be good for the environment, I will be able to keep coppicing the tree every few years.

I've been busy planting raspberry canes at the weekend, still quite a few more to plant and transplant.  Then I need to put my sticks to good use.

The winter salads are surviving under the tunnel, and I'm pretty pleased with them.  If they do this well in the polytunnel it will help fill the winter gap.  The first shoots of the Narcissus I planted are showing through, they will be a welcome sight in the spring.  The garlic is doing well ,but my onions have struggled after an unknown foe has been digging them up as soon as I replant them.  They are slowly establishing but I'm not sure how it will affect the crop.
