happy belated new year

I've been cutting back the hedge over the last couple of weeks, as the weathers been cold and the ground frozen.

I've now got piles of wood to sort out, some for firewood and kindling and some for piling up for a bonfire later in the year.  The hedge has been growing unchecked for a while and had got too tall.  Cutting it back will allow it to regenerate, I don't want to make the birds homeless so I'm leaving some sections and doing it in phases

Things are still growing and the alliums I planted are starting to come through, even my problem onions appear to be settling.  The snowdrops in the garden are starting to bud, spring is on the way.  I've potted some more summer bulbs and dahlias.

Next job is to mow some more sections of the paddock ready to rotovate.  Then I can start planting early potatoes.  I don't think I'll grow main crop as they take up a lot of space.

I've been designing flyers and business cards, then I can get posting and hopefully secure a few customers. I'll be finishing work soon, so I'm looking for a new company car.  I want a Morris Traveller, went to see one but it needed a bit of work and tlc.  I'll need to look at a few more just to see what's available for my budget.  I've got my bike and trailer if all else fails.
